Celtic’s Leigh Griffiths Sends Message of Thanks to Fans For Support

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has sent a message of thanks to the club’s supporters today, after news broke yesterday of his indefinite break from football.

Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed during his media conference on Wednesday that Griffiths would be taking time away from the game in order to deal with ‘ongoing issues’ in his private life, leading to an outpouring of support from football fans all across the country.

As we told you last night, it wasn’t only supporters who voiced their encouragement but also ex players, many of whom know all about the pressures of leading the line for one of the biggest clubs in the UK.

And it seems the 28-year-old has received the goodwill, and is keen to let everyone know just how much he appreciates them.

Speaking via the official Celtic website, the Scotland international said: “I just wanted to thank everyone at the club and so many Celtic fans and other people who have sent me such kind and powerful messages of support.

“I thank you all sincerely and want to let you know I’m doing all I can to come back as soon as possible, a better and stronger person.”

It remains to be seen when we’ll see Griffiths back in that iconic green and white jersey, but lets hope he’s back to his old self before too long.

Get well soon, Leigh.
