Former Germany international Stefan Kiessling has made the extraordinary revelation that his wife passed fitness tests on his behalf on more than one occasion – without anybody noticing.
Now 34 and retired, Kiessling was one of the most respected players in the Bundesliga in his playing days during a 12-year stint with Bayer Leverkusen, which saw him score 131 goals in 342 league appearances and eventually led to him winning six caps for his country.
But looking back on his career in a remarkable interview with SportBild, Kiessling has revealed that he let his wife Norina do some of pre-season tests on his behalf.

This is off the back of Stefan Kiessling, an ex-footballer who's admitted that his wife would do his fitness tests to help him pass!! 🤸♀️🏋️♀️💪👀

Expressing his disdain for pre-season tests, he said: “I never did one hundred percent of the exercises in the preparation periods, not once.
“You get a heart rate monitor on which all runs are saved.
“As my wife is very athletic, she did some racing with the wristband according to my specs.
“She did it so well that nobody noticed.
We’ve all heard of footballers and their desire to get out of going through gruelling pre-season training, but surely this has to take the biscuit?
Moreover, his wife must’ve been pretty fit to take the tests and have nobody notice, eh?
What do you make of the tale?
