The 22-year-old started yesterday’s clash against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Olympiastadion, and the Serbian rose highest to head home Marvin Plattenhardt’s corner after 40 minutes, in what turned out to be the only goal of the game.
The powerful header was Grujić’s first goal for Hertha, and it couldn’t have come at a better time for the Berlin side, and their manager Pal Dardai felt it appropriate to single him out for a special commendation.
Speaking via This is Anfield, Dardai told reporters after the win:
“Marko is the best midfielder we have had in the last 20 years.
“The club is doing everything to make it last longer.”
Having spent last season on-loan with Cardiff City in the Championship, it seems Grujić is developing his game by experiencing new environments, and he still has a contract at Liverpool until 2023.
Do you think he could soon be a key player for the Reds in the Premier League?
