Ex-Celtic striker Moussa Dembele has sent his best wishes to former team-mate Leigh Griffiths tonight – whilst taking a broad swipe at Rangers after their Europa League exit.
As you’ll probably be aware by now, Griffiths is taking an indefinite break from football to deal with ongoing ‘personal issues’, and missed out on tonight’s European showdown with RB Salzburg in Glasgow.
Whilst the Hoops lost, they still managed to scrape through to knockout stages with nine points, but the continental adventure is over for another year for their arch rivals.
The Gers needed to beat Rapid Vienna in Austria but they ended up losing 1-0, and Dembele couldn’t wait to rub salt into the wounds:
Great European week đ. Qualified for my first Champions League knockout stage games, Celtic going through, Rangers outđ…đđȘđż! Thought to Griff, hope to see him back on the pitch soon! @dembelition

He didn’t leave Parkhead on the best of terms when he departed Glasgow in September for Lyon, but does this show Dembele genuinely cares about the fortunes of his old team?
