Plenty of Rangers supporters have been giving stick to defender Joe Worrall this evening after the centre-back sent his best wishes to his parent club Nottingham Forest, ahead of their clash with bitter rivals Derby County.
The 21-year-old defender moved to Rangers on a season-long loan from his boyhood club Forest back in August, and initially managed to oust Nikola Katic as the first-choice partner for Connor Goldson at the heart of the Ibrox side’s defence.
However, Worrall has lost his place in recent weeks, with veteran Gareth McAuley brought into the team, leading to Worrall publicly admitting he is keen on a return to the City Ground sooner rather than later.
Aitor Karanka’s side are facing Derby this evening in a match which is fiercely important to local supporters, including Worrall- but his well-wishing tweet didn’t go down well with Gers fans:
Got my hopes up there.
