Promising young American defender Manny Perez has revealed that he has been on trial with Celtic and included in training sessions with the Scottish champions earlier this month.
The 19-year-old right-back currently plays for North Carolina State University, and has been earmarked as a potential senior international for the United States for some time now.
Perez has already played for his country’s Under-20 side at the Concacaf U20 Championship, and scored against the US Virgin Islands.
And it seems his impressive displays have been enough to catch the eye of Brendan Rodgers and the Hoops’ coaching team, as he revealed on his Instagram account last week in a photo thought to have been taken at the club’s Lennoxtown training centre:

Given Mikael Lustig certainly isn’t getting any younger, and Christian Gamboa doesn’t seem to be the answer, Celtic are definitely in the need of a new right-back but would a more experienced player fit the bill better than a youngster like Perez?
What do you think?
