Ryan Giggs Absolutely Hammers Romelu Lukaku After His Liverpool Display

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has absolutely slaughtered Romelu Lukaku this afternoon following the striker’s insipid display against Liverpool at Anfield.

A Sadio Mane opener, as well as a Xherdan Shaqiri double, was enough to ensure Jesse Lingard’s first-half goal was nothing more than a consolation, as Jurgen Klopp’s men secured a 3-1 victory in-front of their jubilant home fans.

Whilst some serious questions will no doubt be asked of United’s defending in the defeat, Giggs instead decided to focus on Lukaku, who failed to inspire any sort of tangible penetration on Liverpool in 90 minutes.

He cost a whopping £75 million when United bought him from Everton 18 months ago, but the Wales manager certainly doesn’t think he’s living up to his mammoth price-tag.

Speaking via the Manchester Evening News, Giggs explained: “We used to have centre-forwards like Cantona who would turn bad balls into good balls.

“Now we have centre-forwards like Lukaku who turn good balls into bad balls.”

What do you think of Giggs’ comments? Is he right to focus his ire on Lukaku’s form? And where do United go next?
