After first-choice striker Odsonne Edouard came off injured against Motherwell on Wednesday night, manager Brendan Rodgers was forced to turn to 19-year-old Johnston, who subsequently came off the bench to score in the 3-0 win.

The Scotland under-21 international retained his place for this afternoon’s Premiership clash with Dundee, and it wasn’t long before he was adding to his goal tally and impressing even more of the home supporters.
Johnston opened the scoring with a pin-point header after 43 minutes, before making it 2-0 on 50 minutes after a really clever turn and finish, and the game went on to finish 3-0 once again.
With Leigh Griffiths out for the foreseeable future, and Edouard’s length of absence still unknown, there’s a fair number of fans who seem to be getting used to Johnston banging in the goals:
Mikey Johnston is class. Unleash him against the Huns

If Mikey Johnston keeps this up, he'll send Goldson into an early retirement next week.
