Video: Ex-Rangers Defender Bruno Alves Scores Stunning 35-Yard Free-Kick for Parma

Former Rangers centre-back Bruno Alves continued to roll back the years for Parma earlier this evening by scoring a truly wonderful free-kick from all of 35-yards.

The evergreen defender is now 37, but is still going strong in Serie A as Parma look to challenge for a spot in next season’s Europa League, having just been promoted back to Italy’s top-flight last summer.

Trailing at home to Chievo today, the Yellow and Blues needed a slice of magic to get back into the match, and that’s exactly what their Portuguese international came up with in the 53rd minute:

Alves showed just how proficient he was in dead-ball situations during his time at Ibrox last season, particularly in the final Premiership match of the campaign away at Hibs.

However, Alves was quickly moved on after Steven Gerrard’s arrival in June and it seems the move back to Italian football is definitely agreeing with him.

What do you think of the goal?
