With the Premiership title race just starting to heat up, it looked like Gerrard’s men were about to drop costly points at McDiarmid Park after Matty Kennedy’s opening goal just before half-time.
The Ibrox side were a far cry from being at their best but a late onslaught soon turned things around, with subs Glen Middleton and Kyle Lafferty causing significant problems in the Saints defence.
In the end, Morelos bagged his 18th and 19th goals of the campaign to seal a 2-1 victory, but Gerrard was far from impressed after the fill-time whistle:
"We shouldn't have to work that hard to win at places like this, with all due respect."
"They were the ones who looked like they fancied a title race."
Steven Gerrard's honesty and no nonsense approach is becoming a staple of his management style…

Despite Gerrard’s complaints, his team are now just one point behind arch-rivals Celtic, albeit with the Hoops holding a game in-hand, ahead of their meeting on December 29.
What do you think of Rangers’ display, and Gerrard’s comments?
