Chelsea striker Oliver Giroud conjured up a world class free-kick this evening – leaving the Stamford Bridge club’s fans shocked and delighted.
The Blues went into tonight’s game in Hungary looking to finish off their group phase with a sixth win, meaning they would’ve not only won the section but also claimed all 18 points whilst do so.
As you’d probably expect, manager Maurizio Sarri shuffled the pack in his starting XI, with players like Giroud, Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi all recalled to the starting line-up after several weeks kicking their heels on the bench for Premier League games.
After an end-to-end contest, it looked like the Hungarian side had claimed a decent point against the Stamford Bridge side, but nobody could’ve guessed what Giroud had up his sleeve.
What an outrageously good free-kick this is:
Olivier Giroud with the stunning free-kick! 😮
Who knew he had that in the locker?
With a man on the post as well! 👌 pic.twitter.com/HegT2cncvQ

Not too bad at all, eh?
Given he’s struggled to score a lot of goals over the last year or so, is it about time we see Giroud perched over set-pieces rather than trying to get his head onto them?
