A closely-contested bout was decided by three first-half goals, with Connor Goldson and Alfredo Morelos hitting back after a 27th minute Gareth McAuley own goal gave the Jambos the lead.
Gerrard watched from the sidelines as his side were reduced to ten men in the second-half when Scott Arfield was dismissed for a rash lunge on Bobby Zlamal, but all-in-all the former Liverpool captain was more than pleased with his side’s afternoon:
"They were better for 20 minutes, and then we completely dominated the game."
"The lads were awesome today!"

Rangers now go top of the Premiership table tonight, one point clear of bitter rivals Celtic, who have on game in-hand, but what do you make of Gerrard’s assessment?
Were Rangers far better than Craig Levein’s Hearts, and were they much fitter today?
