Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has insisted his side are far too reliant on striker Alfredo Morelos after today’s insipid draw at home to a battling Hibs side.
Just three days before hosting arch-rivals Celtic at Ibrox, Gerrard’s men went into today’s clash knowing three points was essential to keep the heat on the Hoops, and it looked like they were heading for victory after Morelos handed them an early lead.
Rangers continued to dominate and had several excellent opportunities to add to their tally, but they were made to pay the price for not doing so in the 86th minute.
Ex-Rangers defender Darren McGregor rose highest in the penalty area to head home a brilliant cross, and after surrendering two points at home, Gerrard lambasted his players inability to kill teams off:
Morelos now has 20 goals to his name this season, but surely Rangers need to spend a few quid and add to their striking options in January, no?
