Was Alfredo Morelos lucky to avoid a red card for a kick at Scott Brown early in the Rangers v Celtic game?

The Colombian striker is never far away from the controversy and it took him just minutes to be involved in a big incident in today’s game.

With Brown going up for a high ball in his own half, Morelos appeared to kick out at the Hoops captain, catching him between the legs.

Referee John Beaton awarded a free-kick, but didn’t punish Morelos. Replays showed he may have got that wrong though:

Morelos has picked up 13 yellow cards and three red cards this season and his disciplinary really needs to improve – so he’ll be thankful this didn’t lead to any punishment from the referee.

And it’s definitely a boost that Morelos is on the park for Rangers as they look to get a victory that would take them joint top of the Premiership table.

Do you think Morelos was lucky?
