Andrew Gutman, a 22-year-old left-back, spent a week on trial with Rangers last month, alongside compatriot Matt Polster, and was given the once over by Steven Gerrard and his coaching team.
But now, according to several reports emanating from the US, Brendan Rodgers is keen on bringing Gutman to Parkhead, following Gutman’s impressive stint whilst playing college soccer at Indiana University.
It appears that in addition to his offer from Rangers, left back Andrew Gutman (22) has an offer from rival club Celtic, according to @PaulTenorio. Gutman was a recent recipient of the Hermann Trophy, which is awarded each year to the top player in college soccer. pic.twitter.com/Gb3Hb2rFDv

According to MLS website The Athletic, and seasoned journalist Paul Tenorio, Gutman is currently mulling over an official offer from Celtic, whilst taking into account other deals on the table from several other American clubs.
There is no mention of Rangers’ current status in the deal, and it remains to be seen if the Ibrox club arrive with a late offer, but if Celtic are interested then it’s safe to assume that Rangers probably are too, right?
Gutman was a recent recipient of the Hermann Trophy, which is awarded each year to the top player in college soccer, but do you think he could cut the mustard in Scottish football?
