Didier Drogba Pays Tribute to ‘His Hero’ Petr Cech After Goalie’s Retirement Decision

Didier Drogba has declared that Petr Cech is his hero, after the goalkeeper announced his decision to hang-up his gloves for good at the end of the current season.

Cech has been at Arsenal for the last three years but made his name in English football alongside Drogba as the first-choice shot-stopper for Chelsea, and played a key role in the Stamford Bridge club winning the Champions League in 2012, as well as several Premier League titles.

Having lost his starting berth with the Gunners to Bernd Leno earlier in the campaign, Cech has come to the decision that it’s time to perhaps try some new things in life, with his 37th birthday coming up later this year.

The news has obviously struck a chord with Drogba, who found it necessary to share his affection for his former team-mate on Instagram:

Where does Cech rank in the list of all-time great Premier League goalkeepers?
