Gary Lineker Ends Up in a Really Bizarre Twitter Spat with Watford

Gary Lineker has found himself in a rather bizarre Twitter spat today – with none other than the official Watford FC account.

The Match of the Day presenter was probably pretty shocked to find the Hornets had dragged up a Tweet of his from a year ago, where he said they’d regret sacking former manager Marco Silva.

With Watford currently seventh in the Premier League, and three points clear of Silva and his 11th placed Everton side, whoever is in charge of their social media channels saw fit to try and rub Lineker’s nose in it:

As you can imagine, it wasn’t too long before Lineker – who is pretty outspoken on Twitter – snapped back and he eventually won an apology from the Hertfordshire club:

What do you think of the rather strange Twitter beef? And does anyone else find it a touch peculiar that someone at Watford has been purposely waiting for an opportunity to send out that Tweet?
