Jermain Defoe’s move to Rangers must have moved a step closer after Bournemouth announced Dominic Solanke as their newest signing.
The English striker has been linked intensely with a loan move to Ibrox over the last 24 hours and it’s believed he’ll actually been in Glasgow for a medical tomorrow.
Not that there had been anything concrete from the club though, with the Scottish football landscape considerably quieter with Premiership teams on their winter break.
Defoe’s signing would be a big boost for Rangers fans after a strong first half of the season.
But some supporters won’t be happy until he’s paraded in their colours – something that should be closer to happening now Solanke has been unveiled by Bournemouth:

Bournemouth had Lys Mousset, Callum Wilson, Joshua King and Defoe as their four strikers before Solanke arrived today as their fifth.
Now you’d have to assume manager Eddie Howe will be happy to sanction Defoe’s exit – and that should mean his unveiling for Rangers over the coming days.
