NFL Commentator Shen Xiao Buys Shares in Motherwell

NFL commentator Shen Xiao has bought shares in Motherwell after being impressed by the club’s fan ownership model.

The Chinese broadcaster is well known to the public in his homeland, having worked regularly on well-known media platforms such as Tencent Sports and CCTV, and is a follower of the Green Bay Packers, American football’s only fan-owned side.

According to the Well Society, Xiao did his research online and was impressed by the set-up at Fir Park before visiting the Steel Men’s stadium during a business trip to Scotland, where he was introduced to Well boss Stephen Robinson.

Shen has now become one of more than 2,700 supporters who can call themselves a genuine owner of Motherwell by being a paid-up member of the Well Society, and if you’re keen to get involved you can do so here.

What do you think of fan ownership in Scottish football? Is it the way forward for most clubs?
