Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Explains Alexis Sanchez’s Absence From Today’s Match with Spurs

Manchester United‘s interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has explained why Alexis Sanchez has been left out of today’s Premier League showdown with Spurs at Wembley.

With the Norwegian aiming to guide the Red Devils to a top-four finish, a positive result at the National Stadium is required to realistically keep alive their hopes of playing in the Champions League next season.

And, you’d have thought, having their best-paid player in the starting XI would help them to achieve that, right?

Well, the Chilean forward was conspicuous in his absence on the United team-sheet this afternoon, despite taking part in the club’s warm weather training in Dubai earlier this week.

However, Solskjaer has put to bed the notion that anything sinister is going on behind the scenes:

He might be out with an injury, but do you think Sanchez still has a long-term future at Old Trafford beyond this season?
