Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Says Scott McTominay Won’t Be Joining Celtic This Month

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has poured cold water on the idea of Scott McTominay joining Celtic on-loan this month, with the Scotland international set to stay put at Old Trafford.

We told you yesterday how the 22-year-old central midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to the Scottish champions until the end of the season, with Hoops fans unconvinced it would be a successful move.

However, when put to the Red Devils’ interim manager during his weekly press conference, Solskjaer revealed he plans to keep McTominay in his squad for the rest of the campaign after Marouane Fellaini suffered an injury.

Speaking via the Metro, the Norwegian coach said: “Scott is working hard.

“He’s a young boy I still believe in.

“We’re working on his contract, with the injuries of Fellaini as well and the squad we have I’m not sure we’re going to see any movement.”

Having already completed the signings of Timothy Weah, Oliver Burke and Vakoun Bayo this month, it seems Celtic gaffer Brendan Rodgers is still keen to reinforce his squad – but it definitely won’t be with McTominay.

Would he have been a hit at Celtic Park?
