Oliver Burke has explained why the number 55 is in his Twitter handle after being asked about it by a Rangers fan.
The Scotland international joined Celtic at the weekend, on a loan from West Brom until the end of the season.
And he’s immediately been using his social media accounts to share his delight at the move.
Some fans have actually noticed some significant numbers on his Twitter handle – particularly significant for Rangers fans as they chase their 55th Scottish league title:
Do is proud agent Burke (55)

The paranoia from Celtic fans because Burke has 55 in his twitter handle is fantastic. pic.twitter.com/060GZx6Lmi

One fan actually asked Burke why he has 55 at the end of his username – and the former Nottingham Forest and RB Leipzig actually responded.
Turns it out it isn’t because of some secret love for Rangers, it’s actually the squad number he got when breaking through at Forest earlier in his career:
Was my first ever number given to me coming through the youth academy at Nottingham Forest 👍🏻

Now that important matter has been taken care of, Burke can focus on getting to know his new teammates after joining up with Celtic at their winter training camp in Dubai.
