The 21-year-old has joined the Hoops on a six-month loan deal from English Championship side West Brom, having failed to nail down a starting berth in the Baggies’ first-team.
Having cost West Brom £12 million, and having been a £13 million signing for RB Leipzig several seasons previous, Burke has undoubted potential and seems to be chomping at the bit to get out onto the pitch and show Scottish fans exactly what he’s capable of.
Speaking via the official Celtic website, Burke said: “I’m really looking forward to seeing all the fans at the home game at Celtic Park.
“That’ll be interesting, I’ve never been before so I’m really excited for that.
“I’ve heard the European nights at Celtic Park, in particular, are amazing.
“I’ve heard all about the fans, and they’re considered amongst the best in the world. I’m really looking forward to it, and the Valencia game is obviously a massive occasion, which will be great to be a part of.
“I’m really excited to be here at Celtic, and I can’t wait to hit the ground running, play as many games as I can, and help the team as much as I can as well.
“I’ll play wherever I’m asked to play. I’ll play wherever the gaffer wants me to and give my all every single time. Hopefully I can give everything that I have, and excite the fans.”
Whilst Burke and his team-mates are currently soaking up some winter sun in Dubai, the winger could end up making his competitive debut against Airdrie in the Scottish Cup at the end of the month.
But do you think he’ll be a success under Brendan Rodgers?
