Rangers Signing Defoe is a ‘Game Changer’ According to Ex-Celt Chris Sutton

Rangers‘ capture of Jermain Defoe should be viewed as a ‘game changer’ according to former Celtic striker Chris Sutton, who has urged his former club to make their move in the transfer market.

As we told you this afternoon, ex-England striker Defoe is set to move to Ibrox on an 18-month loan deal from Bournemouth, as Steven Gerrard adds to his attacking options for the second-half of the season.

Rangers are still flying high after a crucial 1-0 win over their bitter rivals on Saturday, in a result which leaves both Glasgow clubs tied at the top of the Premiership table.

But Sutton reckons Defoe’s arrival could tip the title race in Rangers’ favour, as he told his Twitter followers earlier today:

He’s been a natural goal-scorer throughout his illustrious career but, at 36, is Defoe still the exciting striker needed to topple Brendan Rodgers and Celtic?
