Rodgers Confirms Talks with Maryan Shved’s Agent but Says He Doesn’t Need Another Winger

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed his side have been in contact with the agent of Maryan Shved but insists any move for the Ukrainian youngster would be ‘one for the future’.

The Hoops have been linked with a deal worth around £2 million for the winger who is available from Karpaty Lviv in his homeland, with the midfielder rated as one of Ukrainian football’s most promising talents.

Shved plays his football wide on the right and likes to come in onto his left foot, but, however, it seems the arrival of Oliver Burke and Timothy Weah has seen Celtic reach their full quota of wide players – for now, at least.

Rodgers addressed the rumours as he met the media after Wednesday night’s 4-0 win at home to St Mirren:

Do you think another wide player would do well at Celtic, and are you surprised the club isn’t being linked with more defenders?
