Vakoun Issouf Bayo’s Slovakian Club Say They’re ‘Proud’ to be Selling Him to Celtic

Vakoun Issouf Bayo‘s transfer to Celtic has been wrapped up this evening – and his selling club in Slovakia have insisted they’re actually beaming with joy at the prospect of losing a player to the Hoops.

The 21-year-old striker has been linked with the Hoops for some time now, and the Premiership champions announced his arrival earlier today on their Twitter feed, with the deal thought to be worth around £2 million to Dunajská Streda.

Most teams would be rather upset at losing their top-scorer and best player, but it seems the hierarchy at Streda are more than happy to send Bayo packing, with the transfer going down as the most lucrative in the club’s 114-year history:

Bayo is yet to join up with the Celtic squad at their warm weather training camp in Dubai, but he should be available to make his debut for his new employers in the Scottish Cup tie against Airdrie later this month.

What do you think of the signing, and where else do Celtic need to strengthen before the window closes?
