Ryan Gauld scored two goals – including a wonder volley – in Farense’s 5-0 win on Sunday.
The former Dundee United midfielder is currently playing in the Portuguese second tier, on a season-long loan from Sporting Lisbon.
He’s played 11 times for Farense and could be in line for promotion to the top flight if they keep up the good form that has them sixth in the league after 15 games.
Up until the weekend, Gauld hadn’t scored for Farense, but he’s now opened his account for the Faro side – and after finishing with a tap-in for his first, he added a stunning volley for his second:
That’s good – but what about this?
It’s good to see Gauld performing well for Farense – and with the January transfer window now open, we wouldn’t be surprised to see more speculation linking him with a return to Britain.
This is now Gauld’s third loan spell away from Sporting, but he’ll still have another year on his contract if he decides to return to the club after this loan ends in the summer.
