Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield opened the scoring for his side in today’s friendly with HJK Helsinki at Ibrox, as Steven Gerrard’s side play their first match of football since the Scottish winter break.
The Gers were all geared up to make their return to competitive action against Cowdenbeath in the Scottish Cup fourth-round on Friday night, but a pesky frozen corner flag put paid to that.
The game was called-off, and rescheduled for Wednesday January 30, leaving the club’s supporters livid and Gerrard’s men without any much-needed football in their legs.
Fortunately for them, they had today’s friendly with the Finnish champions organised, as part of the deal to take Alfredo Morelos to in 2017, and it wasn’t long before Arfield opened the scoring with a clever little chip:
⚽️ GOAL: @scottyarf with the opening goal at Ibrox.

Not a bad finish at all, eh?
How do you think Rangers will fare in the second-half of the Premiership season? Is Gerrard on the brink of bringing home the league title?
