Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has told a radio station in Colombia that he’ll ‘most likely’ be leaving the Ibrox club this summer.
The 22-year-old forward has won admiring glances from scouts all over Europe after a brilliant season so far for the Light Blues, with his four-goal haul against Kilmarnock last week taking him to 27 goals for the season in all competitions.
He’s previously been linked with moves away from Glasgow and Morelos has confirmed there’s been contact from other clubs – and that it might not be too long before he’s heading for pastures new.
Speaking in an interview with Colombian radio station W Radio, via the Sun, Morelos explained: “There are many teams interested in me and a lot of them have watched me play.
“Most likely my transfer will be this summer.
“With the amount of goals I have scored, I know it has been noticed by European clubs.
“I have always said I would like to play in the English Premier League.
“But my initial aim is to play in the Copa America this summer, which has always been a dream of mine. My mentality is that I have to keep working hard to get a place in the squad.
“The Scottish league is a very physical one, but it’s at a very high level. Obviously, Rangers and Celtic are the biggest teams there.
“And for me, it’s great to have Steven Gerrard as my manager. I have learned so much from him.
“At Rangers, I am gaining experience, improving and I’m happy.”
Morelos is likely to lead the line for Steven Gerrard’s side at Ibrox this evening, as relegation-threatened Dundee visit Glasgow.
But what do you make of his comments?
Should Rangers supporters be worried about the prospect of losing their star player at the end of the season?
