The Mexican international is still only 30, and is looking for a new club after having his contract with Vancouver Whitecaps terminated by mutual consent last week.
And it looks like he could be about to put pen to paper on a deal with Valerenga, after it was revealed Juarez will be spending the next three weeks on trial with the Norwegian side as they continue their pre-season training at a warm-weather camp in Spain.
Juarez was heralded as a potential star when he signed for Celtic back in the summer of 2010, with then boss Neil Lennon shelling out more than £3 million to Puma UNAM for his services.
However, the defensive midfielder managed just 13 league appearances for the Hoops, before returning to his homeland in 2012 with Club América.
Deila’s time in Glasgow was slightly more successful as he guided the Bhoys to two successive Premiership titles – but is he the man to resurrect Juarez’s stalled career?
