Hibs have reportedly narrowed the search for their new manager down to two contenders – but neither men in the frame seem to excite the club’s supporters.
Easter Road chief executive Leeann Dempster has been sifting through applications for the post ever since Neil Lennon’s departure was confirmed last week, and it seems Michael Appleton and Paul Heckingbottom lead the way, with both men having already been interviewed, according to various tabloid reports.
Heckingbottom’s last managerial role was as Leeds United boss but he lasted just four months at Elland Road, whilst Appleton hasn’t been in a permanent role since he was sacked by Oxford United in 2017.
Given Neil Lennon was one of Hibs’ most popular and successful managers in recent times, it seems fans were expecting an exciting replacement:
What do you think of the reaction, and who would you ideally like to see as the next Hibees boss?
