It Looks Like Michael Appleton Might Not be Hibs Manager After All

Hibs‘ attempts to appoint Michael Appleton as the club’s new manager appear to have hit a major snag, and it looks unlikely that the Englishman will be taking over at Easter Road after all.

We told you last week how the Hibees hierarchy had narrowed down their search for Neil Lennon’s replacement to Appleton and Paul Heckingbottom, with fans not particularly excited by either name.

However, it seems Appleton’s application has hit a brick wall, after several well placed sources hinted at a dispute over details in his proposed contract:

Appleton has been out of work for eight months as he looks for the right opportunity, but having bossed Oxford United, Portsmouth and Blackpool previously, surely the opportunity to take over at Hibs would be too good to turn down?

And if this move for Appleton does indeed break down indefinitely, who should Leeann Dempster move for next?
