Cox was seriously injured after being attacked by a gang of Roma supporters before the Reds’ Champions League semi-final last April, and was left fighting for his life in a coma.
Thankfully, Cox survived, but he still has a long recovery ahead of him, and Carragher recently attended a fundraiser for the Sean Cox Rehabilitation Trust.
The Liverpool legend played his part in the evening raising £11,000 but now Carragher has gone one step further – by doubling the money out of his own pocket, according to JOE.
Liverpool square off against Bayern Munich in the last-16 of the Champions League later this month, and hopefully it’s not too long before Sean Cox is back at Anfield cheering on his heroes.
Thanks to Jamie Carragher, that day might come a lot sooner rather than later.
