And Brendan Rodgers will be hoping it can be a memorable night for all involved at the club after a strong start to 2019.
In seven games since the turn of the year, Celtic have won every one and conceded no goals.
That run includes three wins over St Johnstone and a comfortable victory against Hibs too.
But Thursday’s game against the La Liga giants will be the toughest of the year for Rodgers and his team.
So who will Rodgers trust to start the game? Here, we give our prediction:
Why Bain Over Gordon?Embed from Getty Images
Craig Gordon was the man in the first half of the season, but injury allowed Scott Bain his chance and he’s grabbed it with both hands. As well as not conceding this year, Bain has provided a calmness to Celtic’s passing game that Brendan Rodgers has been searching for. Would be shocked if he didn’t start.
Izaguirre BackEmbed from Getty Images
Emilio Izaguirre was injured late on against Hibs last week, but Rodgers confirmed post-match and in subsequent press conferences that he’s fine. Jonny Hayes played at left back on Sunday against St Johnstone and coped admirably. Expect Izaguirre to come back into the position on Thursday though.
Why Burke Over Edouard?Embed from Getty Images
Odsonne Edouard has been a brilliant player since signing for Celtic on loan over a year ago, but he’s had a difficult season so far with injury and his recent knock against St Johnstone (over two weeks ago) has forced him out of the team. In his absence, January loan signing Oliver Burke has excelled and his performance in the Scottish Cup at the weekend should guarantee his spot leading the line from the start against Valencia.
