Video: Brendan Rodgers Describes Valencia Display as One of His Proudest Nights as a Coach

Brendan Rodgers has described his side’s display against Valencia tonight as one of the proudest moments of his career – despite ending up on the losing side.

The Hoops travelled to Spain for the second-leg of tonight’s Europa League last-32 tie with an enormous mountain to climb, having lost the first-leg 2-0 in Glasgow, but the Scottish champions started the game very well indeed.

In fact, Celtic were unquestionably the dominant side until the 35th minute, when Jeremy Toljan was sent off for two yellow cards, and the decision seemed to tip the tie in the Spaniards’ favour.

Despite exiting Europe at the same stage for the second successive season, Rodgers was still beaming with pride at home his players held themselves in the home of their La Liga opponents:

After losing the tie 3-0 on aggregate, can Celtic still take a great deal of heart from the display?
