Ross McCrorie is the best defensive midfielder in the Scottish Premiership, according to his Rangers team-mate Scott Arfield.
McCrorie has established himself as one of Steven Gerrard’s first picks ever since putting in a herculean display against bitter rivals Celtic at Ibox on December 29, and he’s formed a pretty formidable partnership with Arfield in the centre of the pitch.
He might be just 20-years-old, but McCrorie has already excelled in the Gers first-team, and there’s nobody quite like him anywhere else in the country – according to Arfield, at least.
Speaking via the Daily Record, Arfield lavished praise on the youngster, saying: “He’s been terrific and I don’t think there is anyone better in the league for what he gives to the team.
“He’s about putting out fires, getting the ball back and giving it to different players. For me, he is the best in the league at it.
“He is the sort of player who puts his body in there, even in training. He never wants to miss a minute.”
McCrorie has been earmarked as a potential Ibrox star for sometime now, but does his recent displays really propel him into the echelon of the country’s top midfielders?
And does he have the skill and ability to become a Rangers legend in the future?
