Celtic’s Scott Bain Says Motherwell Players Should Be Embarrassed by Ariyibi Goal

Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain has insisted Motherwell players should be embarrassed by the goal they scored at Parkhead yesterday.

Bain was between the sticks for Sunday afternoon’s 4-1 victory, which reestablished their eight-point lead at the top of the Premiership, but it wasn’t without a hint of controversy.

With the score at 2-0, the ball had been knocked the ball into touch for Ryan Christie to receive treatment for an injury, but instead of returning the ball moments later, Well youngster James Scott decided to run with the ball and take a shot on goal.

His effort was saved by Bain, but Gboly Ariyibi gobbled up the rebound – and prompted a furious reaction from players in green and white jerseys.

Bain has had his say today, and he’s definitely not trying to be diplomatic:

Do you think Celtic’s players have every right to be angry by the way Motherwell’s goal came about?
