Daniel Bachmann brilliantly denied James Tavernier with a penalty save early on in Kilmarnock‘s clash with Rangers this evening.
The sides go up against each other at Rugby Park in the Scottish Cup – with a place in the quarter finals at stake.
And Rangers got an early opportunity to take control of the tie when Kirk Broadfoot handled in the box.
Ryan Kent stripped Stephen O’Donnell of the ball before cutting back for Arfield, but his low show hit the hand of the diving Scott Arfield.
And referee Alan Muir pointed straight to the spot – giving Tavernier the chance to score.
Instead, Bachmann – on loan from Watford – stood in his way and the goalkeeper came out on top:
Bachmann produced a late penalty save against Kenny Miller to earn Killie a 2-2 draw with Dundee in midweek.
And his penalty heroics will only endear him more to the Rugby Park faithful.
