Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has singled out defender Joe Worrall for praise following his side’s end-to-end win over Aberdeen on Wednesday night.
In a fantastically entertaining encounter, Gerrard’s men eventually triumphed 4-2 at Pittodrie thanks to a brace from Alfredo Morelos, and goals from James Tavernier and Jermain Defoe.
However, despite conceding twice, Gerrard pointed the finger at Worrall for what he described as a ‘top drawer’ display away to the Dons:
Worrall, of course, endured a torrid time in Rangers’ 2-1 defeat at Kilmarnock last month after gifting Killie’s Eamon Brophy a goal, but it seems the on-loan centre-back from Nottingham Forest has redeemed himself in the eyes of his manager following a gutsy showing in the Granite City.
Rangers remain six points behind bitter rivals Celtic in the Premiership title race – but do they remain realistic contenders to lift the trophy come May?
