Video: Jermain Defoe Sings the Praises of ‘Huge Potential’ Alfredo Morelos

Rangers striker Jermain Defoe has sung the praises of his team-mate Alfredo Morelos following the Colombian’s four-goal haul against Kilmarnock last night.

Morelos took his tally to the season to 27 goals during last night’s Scottish Cup fifth-round replay at Ibrox and Defoe seems to be impressed by what he’s seen in the 22-year-old since moving to Glasgow.

It was originally thought Defoe was signed to be Rangers’ first-choice striker, but the veteran England international has been forced to spend several matches kicking his heels on the bench at the expense of Morelos.

Even so, the 36-year-old wasn’t afraid to shine the spotlight on his fellow forward during today’s media conference, ahead of the weekend’s Premiership game with Hamilton:

Do you think Morelos will follow in the footsteps of Defoe and eventually end up in the English Premier League?

And can they both play together up-front at Ibrox?
