Maurizio Sarri watched in horror as his Chelsea side were destroyed by Manchester City today, and the mauling was so devastating that he didn’t even want to shake Pep Guardiola‘s hand after the final whistle.
The Italian took his side to the Etihad today attempting to get back into the Premier League’s top-four, having been leapfrogged by Manchester United yesterday, but it wasn’t long before they were picked apart by England’s defending champions.
Sarri looked stunned on the sidelines as City raced into the 4-0 lead after just 25 minutes, and a Sergio Aguero hat-trick ensured the match finished 6-0 – which is the first time Chelsea have EVER conceded six goals in the Premier League era.
But rather than taking the mauling on the chin and trying to retain a bit of dignity, Sarri completely blanked Guardiola’s attempts to shake his hand, leaving the Spaniard looking completely bemused:
The two are known to be good friends, so perhaps Sarri was simply too dejected to hang around, but what do you think?
