Video: Scott Brown Hails ‘Fantastic’ Brendan Rodgers For How He Changed ‘Struggling’ Celtic

Scott Brown has hailed the ‘fantastic’ Brendan Rodgers for what he did to pick up a ‘struggling’ Celtic in 2016.

The Hoops captain tonight spoke to the media for the first time since the Northern Irishman left the club to take over at Leicester yesterday.

He was speaking after Celtic’s hard-fought 2-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle.

And he was diplomatic in his reaction to the last 24 hours, Rodgers’ exit and Neil Lennon arriving as his caretaker assistant.

Significantly, Brown chose to praise Rodgers at a time when many Celtic supporters are sharing their frustration at the way he left.

He hailed Rodgers as a ‘fantastic’ manager and believes he is a big factor in the club improving from their struggles under Ronny Deila:

It’s difficult to disagree with Brown too – regardless of the way Rodgers left for Leicester.

After stuttering to a league win in Deila’s final season, Rodgers won seven of seven possible domestic trophies in his time in charge and has left Celtic in a strong position to win a treble treble this season too.
