Steven Gerrard didn’t sound too disappointed following Rangers’ 0-0 draw with Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup.
The Ibrox side will go up against Killie at home on February 19th in the replay of tonight’s following a goalless draw at Rugby Park.
It wasn’t the best Rangers performance, but they did have opportunities to win it too – with James Tavernier’s missed penalty the best of the lot.
When asked about Tavernier’s penalty duties, Gerrard reiterated his faith in his captain.
And he also reserved some special praise for Ross McCrorie, who put in a tireless midfield performance for Rangers.
Speaking to Premier Sports post-match, Gerrard said:
Rangers play St Johnstone next weekend in the Premiership before going up against Kilmarnock again at Ibrox on the 19th.
And they’ll have Alfredo Morelos back for that game – with the Colombian striker serving the first of a three-game ban tonight.
Morelos will miss the following Premiership game against Hamilton though to complete his suspension for the red card he picked up at Aberdeen in midweek.
