Bookies Slash Odds of Marco Rose Becoming Permanent Celtic Boss

The odds of RB Salzburg coach Marco Rose becoming the next Celtic manager have been slashed by bookies, with the German now second-favourite to become the Hoops’ next permanent boss.

Neil Lennon is in interim charge of the Premiership champions and oversaw an impressive double win over Hearts and Hibs in his first few days back at Parkhead.

Perhaps understandably, the Northern Irishman is the hot favourite to be confirmed Celtic’s long-term choice, but Rose’s odds have tumbled over the weekend from 33/1 to just 5/1 earlier today.

Rose was promoted the Salzburg hot-seat in 2017 after impressing with the Austrian club’s youth teams, and went on to guide the senior side to a league title last season as well as the Europa League semi-finals.

Moreover, Rose oversaw Salzburg’s home and away wins over Celtic in this season’s Europa League group stages, before posing in green and white scarves and hats – but could he really be the answer to the Hoops’ problems?

What do you think?
