Rangers‘ new deal for Alfredo Morelos has no buyout clause in it, according to reports.
Gers fans today got the news that the Colombian striker is now contracted at the club until 2023.
That comes days after reports emerged saying Leicester City and Borussia Dortmund were among the teams interested in signing the former HJK Helsinki striker.Embed from Getty Images
And the news gets better apparently, with thecoplandroad.org reporting that there’s no buyout clause in the new contract.
They wrote: “The CRO understands the 22-year-old Colombian and his representatives did not seek a buyout clause in his contract.
“As players’ agents usually request this as a way of moving clubs for under their true value, it’s fantastic news to able to secure our top scorer on a long term deal without any such clause.”
This is a big boost for Rangers and, if true, will lead to them getting the highest price possible when the time comes to sell Morelos.
Rangers are next in action against Hibs at Easter Road tonight and they’ll be hoping Morelos can add to his 28 goals so far this season.
