The Angle That Shows Tottenham Shouldn’t Have Had Penalty v Arsenal

Tottenham definitely shouldn’t have had a penalty against Arsenal this afternoon.

Spurs managed to get back on level terms after falling behind to an Aaron Ramsey goal in the 16th minute.

But it was courtesy of some luck from the officials, with Harry Kane clearly offside for the cross that led to his penalty.

There’s absolutely no doubt that referee Anthony Taylor got the decision to award the spotkick right.

Skhodran Mustafi clearly pushed Kane as he tried to get on the end of Christian Eriksen’s deep free-kick.

But it was clear that Kane was offside as the free-kick was hit – and this angle proves it:

You can clearly see Kane – wearing 10 – is leaning beyond the rest of the Arsenal backline.

You can see the linesman attempting to look around bodies to see it, but there are other Spurs players offside blocking his view.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, they actually got a penalty in the final minute to win the game, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had his effort saved by Hugo Lloris.
