Ally McCoist has put his value on Alfredo Morelos following the Rangers striker’s contract extension.

Gers fans got great news today when the club announced the Colombian striker had signed a new deal that ties him down until 2023.

He’s hit 28 goals in 41 games this season and has been a huge reason for Rangers’ improvement domestically and in Europe this term.

And with reports this week linking him with moves to Leicester City and Borussia Dortmund, it’s outstanding business by Rangers to extend Morelos’ deal.

There’s no doubt the interest will continue to come if Morelos keeps scoring goals and Rangers keep winning games.

So how much would it take to tempt him away from Ibrox?

For McCoist, it’s a fee in the region of £18million:

Rangers signed Morelos in a £1million deal in June of 2017 and that looks like being an outstanding bit of business already.

But if he goes for £18million or more then it’s a great profit for Rangers and should allow them to reinvest in Steven Gerrard’s squad and the club in general over the coming years.
