With title rivals Man City playing in the FA Cup quarter-finals against Swansea City yesterday, Jurgen Klopp’s men had the opportunity to go into the international break top of the Premier League with a win at Craven Cottage.
They looked on course to do exactly that when Sadio Mane put the Reds in front in the first-half, but former Liverpool favourite Ryan Babel levelled things on 74 minutes, after, well, some pretty shabby defending all round.
It looked as though both van Dijk and Alisson Becker were most at fault but after the match James Milner also took his brunt of the blame after blazing the ball into the sky in the build-up:
With Liverpool now top of the tree by two points with just seven games to play, do you think they’ll manage to pip Pep Guardiola’s side?
