Gary McAllister believes Kilmarnock will travel to Ibrox with a clear game-plan this afternoon… to “frustrate” the hosts into dropping valuable points.
Rangers will of course be hoping to put last week’s horror showing against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup firmly their rear-view mirror today.
A commanding performance against Killie would equally give the growing number of disgruntled Gers supporters a much-needed lift.
However, McAllister doesn’t expect Steve Clarke’s side to simply roll over, as Rangers look to narrow the 8-point gap between themselves and league leaders Celtic.
Speaking to RangersTV, McAllister called for his players to show “composure” and “patience” in order to break down a formidable Kilmarnock rearguard:
Kilmarnock have earned a reputation for being one of the most organised teams in the Scottish top flight this season, making this afternoon’s clash a far from ideal one for Gerrard and his men.
Clarke’s side will also have the added motivation of being able to tighten their grip on fourth spot in the Premiership table with any sort of upset away from home.
