Gary McAllister believes the ‘really dry’ and ‘bobbly’ pitch was to blame for Rangers‘ draw with Aberdeen at the weekend.
Steven Gerrard’s men had to come back from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw at Pittodrie on Sunday.
And while their hopes of a semi-final clash with rivals Celtic at Hampden remain in a replay at Ibrox a week today, the Gers won’t be happy that they couldn’t get the job done at the weekend.
Why did Rangers struggle at Pittodrie? McAllister believes the poor surface contributed to a poor game.
Speaking to Rangers TV this week, McAllister said:
The draw for the Scottish Cup semi-final was made last night following the 1-1 draw between Partick Thistle and Hearts.
And it paired the winner of that tie with Inverness.
But the stand out semi will be either Aberdeen or Rangers against Celtic next month.
We’ll have to wait until a week from now to find out who joins Celtic and Inverness in the semis.
